Both Ammata building 1 and 2 were Lao style houses in the most quiet street in the heart of the NESCO world heritage area, surrounded by temples, and between the Mekong River and the Nam Khan River and close to restaurants and shops. Every morning the monks pass Ammata guest house for their alms collection. There are many well known restaurants around such as the Elephant and Tamarin restaurants.

One cafe opposite the guest house is good for breakfast and one restaurant behind the guest house is well known for both Lao people and foreigners.
