Une cérémonie de signature a été organisée à la Résidence de France en présence de M. Alain Daout, représentant légal du groupe Apple Tree au Laos, M. Guillaume Perdon, directeur exécutif de la Banque Franco-Lao (BFL), et M. Yves Carmona, nouvel Ambassadeur de France au Laos.
Editée par l’Ambassade sous son format actuel depuis 2006, la lettre d’information « La France au Laos » est disponible à un rythme trimestriel en versions papier et électronique. Elle est distribuée gratuitement à 2000 exemplaires et sa parution est entièrement financée par les sponsors. Depuis 2010, la lettre d’information est également disponible en version anglaise.
« La France au Laos » a pour objectif de dresser un panorama le plus exhaustif possible de l’action de la France dans tous ses aspects, à travers les projets menés par tous les acteurs francophones au Laos, publics et privés. Elle se veut un trait d’union entre ceux qui œuvrent, chacun dans leur domaine de compétence, au développement des relations franco-laotiennes.
En outre, par souci de transparence, l’Ambassade souhaite profiter de cette interface privilégiée pour rendre compte des orientations de l’Etat français en matière d’allocation des fonds d’aide au développement.
La lettre d’information est un outil vivant qui sert également à informer les ressortissants français de sujets intéressant directement leur vie au Laos : informations consulaires, agenda de l’Institut français, mesures concernant leur sécurité etc.
